President Barack Obama’s Economy Adviser to quit

President Barack Obama's top economic adviser Larry Summers will leave the White House at the end of the year. White House economic adviser Larry Summers said he will leave his job, marking a major staff shake-up for US president Barack Obama as he faces growing pressure to renew the slow economy.

Mr. President said: “While we have much work ahead to repair the damage done by the recession, we are on a better path thanks in no small measure to Larry's wise counsel.”

Lawrence Henry Summers is the Charles W. Eliot University Professor at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Summers also served as the 27th President of Harvard University from 2001 to 2006.
