Big Ten Conference Announces Division, Schedules

Big Ten announced its divisional breakdown for football. Big Ten has officially set their divisions for the 2011 athletic season. Big Ten teams will play eight conference games the next two seasons and it could increase in the future.

The first Big Ten championship game will be played in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium, the indoor home of the NFL’s Colts. “Competitive equality, rivalries and geography” when putting together its divisions said Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany.

The East will consist of: Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois, and Indiana.
The West will be: Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Minnesota.
