Kim Clijsters wins US Open final crushing Vera Zvonareva

This time US Open is not at all Williams Sisters Show. US Open goes to Kim Clijsters. Kim Clijsters beat Vera Zvonareva in than an hour to win her second successive US Open final.

Earlier in history, Chris Evert beat Evonne Goolagong 6-3, 6-0 in 1976 - a short time victory and now Kim Clijsters repeats this. Kim Clijsters won an pathetically one-sided final at Flushing Meadows 6-3, 6-0 in less than an hour. This is her third US Open title.

Clijsters defends her title tonight against the Russian Vera Zvonareva, who beat the top seed, Caroline Wozniacki. Zvonareva had impressive victory in semifinal and entry into the final. Clijsters cracked joke latter “Obviously she's still young. She's two-and-a-half. I don't think to her it matters too much whether I win or lose.”

Clijsters said of her six-year-old daughter “She sees a trophy and she knows that a trophy is a part of winning. She kind of connects the dots like that but ... I'm not going to go tell her, Mommy won the US Open”
